Purpose

Purpose Statement

My goal for creating this professional portfolio is to present a cumulative synthesis of my academic work as an NC State MSTC student. My portfolio is designed to showcase my resume, an abridged culmination of my completed works, and a list of professional development resources.

My portfolio acts as a functional work space to categorize, and showcase my academic and professional projects. and will be updated annually. The site is intended to:

      1. To demonstrate a variety of academic projects to potential business and community partners.
      2. Help me to maintain a community space to organize and share my professional development resources. 
      3. Share my contact information and hobby websites to support and grow my professional network.

Active Ageing Training Series

Blending Later Life Learning into Healthcare
A Training Series to Promote Later Life Learning for Working Adults Aged 55-66

To demonstrate a master level of proficiency in technical communication, I designed a blended learning series to explore the future of lifelong learning health literacy in older adults.

The purpose of this project is to demonstrate blended learning can play an important role in combating health literacy by minimizing to the downward shifts in attitudes and behaviours that take place throughout adulthood.

The three-part  Active Ageing training series features plain language documentation guidelines to highlight the manifold role technical communicators play in promoting health progression and reducing health disparities in older adults as they age. Click the link to view the slideshow presentation.
